Prince Charming started coming around  November of 2023.  He would show up around the edge of the property but would run away whenever he saw us.  We began to put food out for him and he would eat and run away!

Over time, he would let us get closer and closer until one day near Christmas, he finally trusted us enough to pet him - just a little - and then he would run away! 

​

We were able to get him to the vet, who checked him for a chip, and gave him shots, and tended to some wounds he had.  She estimated he was about a year-ish.  He was a scrawny, dirty little thing!  He would disappear for a few days and then show back up, often having been in a tussle with something.

We continued to show him that he could trust us and eventually he would let us pet him and even brush him - which he loved!!  He started coming into the shop at the back door and visiting.  We had a bed on the back porch for him, but every so often, he would disappear again.

We started to wonder if he could be a shop kitty.  We had all fallen in love with him.  We started exposing him to the shop and customers, and he was so good!!  It looked like it was a go!

We had tried to get him back to the vet for a neuter appointment, but he would disappear before each appointment!  Did he somehow know??  He showed up one day and he had been in a terrible fight!!  He went to the vet to get doctored up.  His next neuter appointment was later that same week.  Our owners decided we would keep him in the office of our shop and keep our fingers crossed that he would be okay with that.  (Spoiler alert - he was!!)

He went to his appointment and after that, he never left the shop again!  He finally knew this was HIS home.  He is the best shop kitty we could have hoped for.  He has never broken anything and doesn't scratch anything but his scratching mat.  His lives here full-time and is so happy to see visitors.  He has quite the following now!  People come to the shop just to see him sometimes!  He is such a handsome, gentleman now.  He ever has a collection of bowties!  We say he is the boss now!
